The Postpartum Check-In cover was developed in response to Baker’s art direction, which included both fiction and nonfiction titles sharing a warm, clear, graphic sensibility. A structured grid with checkmarks and Xs signals assessment and guidance, reinforcing the book’s role as a practical reference for distinguishing what’s normal, what’s not, and when to advocate for care. By avoiding trend-driven or narrowly “new mom” visual language, the design intentionally speaks to the postpartum experience as ongoing—appealing to a wide age range of women who return to this guide long after the early weeks following birth.
